Contribuiți la feedbackThey have the best tom ka gai I've ever tasted! I ordered tom yum, tom ka gai, salted fish baked rice and Thai troops for the family today, and we had them for lunch. I am a return customer, and I decided to reorder from this restaurant because I loved the aromen.
Smile Elephant is one of our family's favorite restaurants. It serves affordable and delicious food, and it is also one of the best Thai food. It is located in Kapitolyo, Pasig City. It's not a big restaurant but not so small either. The service was also fast. We enjoyed the sweet-salty nuts with sesame seeds that was served as an appetizer. The Tom Yum Goong (P 295) was spicy, sour, and a little sweet. I smelled and tasted lemongrass and a hint of wansoi. The prawns were juicy and fresh. The waiter told us that they adjusted the spiciness to the Filipino taste. The spiciness is in the throat so make sure to drink water. I don't recommend sipping a lot of the soup in a fast manner. The Pomelo Salad (P 185) was sweet and salty. The salad was very refreshing and the dressing had a light coconut scent which went well with the juicy pomelos. The Pad Thai (P 215) is sweet and sour, and has a nutty beansprout taste. Noodles are flat but not too hard or soft. We, however, felt that there were too many beansprouts which affected the taste. The Stir Fried Squid with Salted Egg (P 225)'s squid was soft and had hints of sesame oil but still a bit chewy. The sauce was buttery, and had a subtle salty flavor from the salted egg. However, the squid lacked flavor. The Thai Bagoong Rice (P 185), was not salty at first, but there were other parts that were, so maybe they didn't mix it properly? It was flavorful with slivers of green mango. The Chicken Pandan (195), was with a sweet chili sauce. It was fried, but needs more marinate due to it being a bit bland even with the sauce. On the other hand, it was moist on the inside, and crispy on the outside, Cold and squishy, the Thai Red Ruby with Cream (P85), was in a fun pink-ish color, and resembled tapioca. It was sweet and was inside a coconut-y soup, hence the fragrance. It was a little watery but I think it's due to the ice cubes inside it. Unlike the previously mentioned dessert, the Sticky Rice with Mango (P85) was warm. It had a sweet mango with coconut cream, and the sticky rice was more flavorful than a suman. It had a full flavor and wasn't dry. Price: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Taste: 4.5/5
