Castelli's Deli Cafe - Pasatiempo

I like to support small, local businesses whenever I can so I was glad to discover Castelli’s when I wanted a casual lunch after a morning hike.The guys behind the counter were friendly and greeted me like a regular customer even though I’d never been there before. The BLT I ordered had been taken off the online menu, but they offered to make it for me anyway. My food came out quickly and the sandwich was amazing!I wanted to sit outside but the tables looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The whole area was cluttered with leaves, junk, and other debris. The owner actually reads these reviews (nice! so I hope he takes care of this soon.This hidden gem seems to be a neighborhood favorite, with an extensive menu at reasonable prices. I’ll be back whenever I’m in the area.

Very confused how this got such high ratings. We waited over 20 minutes for our sandwiches while the staff ran their mouths. You can tell some of the staff really care and others don’t care at all. The girl making our sandwiches did not. There was literally only one piece of turkey on half of my sandwich. Overpriced for what it was.

Great food,fun atmosphere and great music from a solo guitarist playing while we were there. We will return!

Needed to-go breakfast before going on a hike and Castelli’s made us breakfast sandwiches to order. Wish I could have given more stars but the problem was that I ordered an iced latte and it came hot. I usually wouldn’t have said anything but this is the second time since I’ve been in CA that I didn’t get iced when I ordered it. So when I said it was supposed to be iced, she said no problem but then poured the hot latte over ice, instead of remaking it correctly. So I got an ice-less, watered down latte with almost no flavor. Such a bummer.
