Granville - Pasadena

Granville has tons of seating and very friendly staff! They constantly made sure my friend and I had our waters filled and asked if we needed anything! The pastas were pretty good! The spicy pasta lacked spice and both of them weren’t salted enough in my opinion. Regardless the ambience was very nice! I will definitely be back for the rooftop bar.

Take a date. Don't be late. Park behind the building or walk the area. Please don't forget to tip the great waiters

I was driving by Lake avenue and saw this on the way, so I took my grandmother to the spot. When you walk in, the bar to the right is pretty massive. The overall indoor decor is very stylish and well put together. I started off with their Coffee and was descently good with a side of cream and a sprinkle of raw sugar. It had the perfect temperature and balanced flavor. For appetizers I ordered the brussels sprouts(beware they added raisins but it actually made it taste better and I’m not a fan of raisins in general) grilled asparagus. The brussels sprouts were delicious and a great starter. The asparagus tasted good for a basic side. Now the Rainbow Trout was probably one of the best fish entree’s I’ve had in a while. It was kind of like a Brazino that I’ve tasted at another spot. The seasoning was just right and it was cooked perfectly. It did have small little bones so beware but overall it was an excellent dish I recommend. My grandmother ordered the Strawberry Shortcake it was pretty good to finish off our lunch. Not too sweet but it felt more like a biscuit instead of a cake. Our server was also excellent, attentive and made the dining experience wonderful. There’s a rooftop spot with a bar but it was closed but I think the 3rd floor would be an excellent brunch spot. I’ll definitely be back.

Granville is what I would call an ambiance establishment. The dining area with ficus trees is pleasant and inviting, the bar is open to a second floor and offers TV screens with current sporting events. The seats are comfortable at the bar and there is booth seating, in addition to a narrow outside patio to enjoy a meal and watch foot traffic. On the roof top is their Gin Bar. This area is fun. The space is open with large sofa seating and a bar with friendly service. The menu at the bar is different from the restaurant as they only serve select appetizers up here like their flat bread pizza. The drinks are a la cart. You pick a gin and then pick what you would like infused with it including florals. The drinks are beautiful and very unique to your own tastes. But of course, each addition has a added price so be careful what and how many items you add. The food in the main dining room and downstairs bar, is mediocre. I had a Shrimp Pasta which was drenched in butter and oil. We also ordered a Chicken Sandwich and had to open the bun to see if chicken was inside. Skimped on the chicken breast. The restaurant offers a nice selection of beers, wine and cocktails. Don't come here expecting a culinary experience, but a place to enjoy company, atmosphere or a roof top bar in South Pasadena.
