Contribuiți la feedbackUnfortunately we never got to try the food at this restaurant, as no-one was interested in serving us. Two of us (both middle aged, reasonably presented women) walked in off the street on a Saturday night and were greeted by a frown and a look...up and down. We asked if it were possible to eat without having made a booking. We were told yes and were distractedly waved towards a table. We sat down, and then waited and waited just to be shown a menu, but it didn't happen. After about ten minutes, we gave up and walked out. No-one noticed or tried to stop us. I've never had that happen before in any restaurant anywhere. There are plenty of great Japanese restaurants in Sydney where the staff are welcoming and friendly. On that night, Sabu was not one of them.
There are lots of restaurants in this area and Sabu is a good Japanese restaurant to go to if you like this type of food. They have a happy hour menu with each dish costing Our party selected most of the selections and...then went back and ordered more. The tempura vegetables was extremely good worh a light crispy batter. Great food and a good price. Great for couples, families or a group.
比較的まともな日本食屋でした。モダンな雰囲気も持ち合わせており、人を招くときもよいかもしれない。 値段もバカ高くないので、満足感も大きいかな。寿司Platter(二人前)40ドル。漁師風Seafood Edamame Main Dish のSalmon grill ga でもこの和牛、本物ではないと思う。食べてないけど、オーストラリアで採れる和牛はないのじゃないかと(?) Fair deal, decent JP food you can expect from this place, Sabu. @ChurchStreet. I highly recommend you go there with friends and/or with family and occasional business networking. Nice atmosphere. We...went there around so not very crowded compared to others. which was nice. You can still chat quietly (no need to scream).
Don't expect to find an inexpensive meal on Church street. The being said, for the piece sushi and sashimi platter was reasonable. The chef chose our fish and every ingredients was fresh and delicious. The spider roll was also go. Our only disappointment...was the eel prawn roll...the prawn was fishy.
Went to Sabu to celebrate and was really looking forward to it as the first time I went with my husband it was perfect. Today it was just terrible. They were so understaffed that it wasn't even funny. At least two extra waiters were necessary....I called the manager over and told her how terrible it was. She apologised and asked what she can do. We asked to get the bill and cancel two dishes that we had waited for very long and also two drinks which one of them had sat on bar top for ages (Sake) and the other was suppose to be a virgin mojito for my husbands niece. They brought a regular mojito. I never received the bill which I had asked for and had to get up and go to the counter to pay. She eventually bothered to look up and give me the bill and said that she took off these things we never received (thanks but I wasn't planning to pay for these anyways). At the counter I told her what a disaster it was and having minimal staff on long weekend is not really viable. I didn't think she really appreciated my comment. I will not return as the manager does not know how to handle a situation like this. I didn't get a feeling that she was genuinely sorry or trying to win us back. If she would want us to return she should have recovered our experience by offering free dessert for kids or something because that's what I would have done. At the end of the day it's not my business nor customers...
