My friend and I were pleasantly surprised by how great the meal was and vowed to bring our other friends there soon. However, upon our return a few months later, the menu had changed and the food was no longer as great as it was previously which was disappointing to see. The cramped indoor space also had trouble fitting our slightly larger group, but would be really cosy and nice for smaller groups. While we still enjoyed the meal, the negative change in menu was a disappointment.
Food was nice and staff were friendly Circa Espresso is a small cafe located a short walk from Parramatta station. It was difficult to find and I actually drove past it as there were no signs. We sat outside to bask in the sun on a cold morning. With all the buzz around the health benefits of tumeric, I decided on the tumeric latte with h/made tumeric, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, almond and date milk. This was my second time trying a latte with tumeric and it was disappointing. My first experience was at Sokyo and that was delicious but not here, I was struggling to finish it, I ended up leaving it and had water. It was a weird combination. The 2 popular dishes were the Ottoman eggs or Baked free range eggs. I decided on the Ottoman eggs with 2 poached eggs, 2 pieces of crumbed eggplant, garlic labneh, burnt chilli and sage butter served with 2 slices of seeded sourdough. Even though I'm not vegetarian, I actually enjoyed the dish. The eggs were cooked just right with the yolk runny. The eggplant wasn't overly greasy and had a nice crunch to it. When eaten together it was nice but was let down as there was no spice to the dish even though the wait staff said that it had a mild spice to it. Staff were friendly. Luckily we came early as not long after we were seated, there was a line. Minimal off street parking available. Verdict: Good food, and friendly staff. I am interested in trying the other dishes.

Such a cute little place - from the terrace house style balcony, to the simplistic yet intriguing, full-of-info menu. A Newtown feel, in a quiet part of Parramatta. Food was DELICIOUS and definitely Instagram worthy :)
Service: 4/5 Food: 2.5/5 Ambience: 3.5/5 Cute little cafe with the eating area around the size of a shipping container. Inside is pretty dim, very nice vintage hippy deco placed around the cafe with nice abstract like paintings. Ordered: French toast - Definitely feels healthy with all he different fruits. Has a lot of colour from flowers, fruits and caramel glazing. But it makes the plate look messy. Taste wise... not the best. Felt like a lot of random fruits and flavours all chucked onto one plate. Sweetness from caramel, tinge of sourness from fruits and the wholegrain wheat flavour from the bread made it weird for the tastebuds as flavours did not compliment each other. Also ordered this fish-salad-poached eggs-biscotti dish (forgot what it's called) - Again, flavours and texture did not compliment each other. Very weird to have eggs with fish, and then the crunchy biscotti. Salad was nice, refreshing and crunchy. Fish itself was tasty, but the crunch from biscotti ruined the soft fish texture. Latte - Pleasant, nothing spectacular, but did order a second cup for take away. For the fairly high prices combined with weird combinations of food in a dish, I probably would recommend it as a "once in a lifetime, give it a try" brunch place for its uniqueness.
