Contribuiți la feedbackSadly, as I like to support local businesses I will never return to the Parksville Smitty's. The service was terrible, we waited over an hour for our food, we watched 3 other tables who all came in long after us, order and get their food. When I complained I was fobbed off with the excuse that the kitchen staff are new and they did the orders in the wrong order, WHAT GARBAGE. The waitress told me it would get sorted and they'd give us a 20% discount, BIG DEAL, when I asked to speak to the manager her attitude sucked, she talked all over me when I was trying to explaining how disappointed we were. She again said she'd give us a 20% discount I told her we should not be charged. She insisted we pay as we had eaten some of the food, none of us finished our meals as the food wasn't great, the hash browns were swimming in grease, the omelets were tiny and overall it wasn't appealing or value for money. If you must have a Smitty's meal go to Port Alberni, the staff are friendlier, the food is better, the manager is professional and the overall experience is a 100 times better.
This restaurant serves delicious home-cooked food and has excellent customer service. During our breakfast visit, I wanted a light meal and ordered just one pancake, but received two. Despite not wanting to waste food, I left most of it on my plate. However, the standout of our dining experience was our waitress Debbie. She was incredibly friendly and skilled at her job. We would definitely return just to see her again.
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at this restaurant. The service was excellent, despite being understaffed, with friendly and courteous staff.
On our way from Port Hardy to Victoria, Jan arranged to meet her cousin and husband in Parksville. They recommended Smitty's as a good place for lunch. We arrived at noon and were promptly seated with our reservation for four. Everyone except me ordered chicken wings, but I had to settle for fish and chips since they were out of nacho chips. Decaf coffee was served for Jan and me. We enjoyed our meal without feeling rushed and had a great 1-1/2 hour visit.
Went to Smittys for the first time in Parksville, the last one I visited was when I was walking the beat in Calgary, and that was 1990, unfortunately not much has changed since then. The breakfast menu was adequate with a few entrees that looked Ok but was I disappointed, when it arrives I thought it was a child's portion with the side order of hash browns were in a very small bowl and the complete was half the size of Rickys for the same price. It was fairly good tasting though but if you were hungry like I was not sufficient.
