Cedars Restaurant & Lounge - Parksville

Went to the lounge for half price appies and a pitcher of beer. Bruno gave us top notch service. He is a ninja server, the used dishes on the table disappeared. The food was delicious, wings, ribs and we shared a salad. Beer was cold with chilled glasses. Very enjoyable.

I took my mom to this restaurant for Mother's Day brunch. I had made a reservation months in advance because they were sold out last year. When we arrived, they tried to seat us in the overflow seating area, which was dark and dingy instead of the restaurant with a window view. We asked to be seated in a nicer area, which they did, and the restaurant was almost empty. It was strange that they would seat two people with reservations for a special brunch in the least appealing area of the restaurant. We both ordered the salmon wellington, but it was tough and dry inside a soggy, uncooked pastry wrap. We had to send them back and ordered something else. What we received was a flavorless scrambled egg dish in a small cast iron pan, along with a small bowl of undressed mixed greens. It felt like the kitchen was getting revenge for us sending back the poorly prepared food. The meals were overpriced, and even though they didn't charge us, it wasn't about the money, but about giving my mom a happy Mother's Day experience. We had been looking forward to this for a long time, and they ruined our experience. I wouldn't dine here again. The only decent thing was their half-price happy hour, where you actually get your money's worth.

Yesterday, we visited Cedar's Restaurant for a late lunch for the first time. Our overall dining experience was pleasant, with a very friendly and attentive waitress and reasonable prices. However, considering the restaurant's location at a resort and the positive reviews I had seen online, I had higher expectations for the quality of the meal. I was anticipating an exceptional dining experience based on the reviews, but unfortunately, it fell slightly short of my expectations.

Food was absolutely horrible. The Caesar salad was bland, the Gemalli pasta was super salty and undercooked and the prawns were RAW. The turkey club was inedible as there was a NASTY bright pink “cranberry mayo” slathered over the non-toasted bun, over the dry turkey and over the bland bacon. Even the fries were nasty- unsalted, flavourless and chalky. The only good thing about the meal were the belinni and beer.

The best service! Delicious meal, fun drinks. We tried a drink special which was dangerously good and the spinach and artichoke dip starter with 3 cheeses has to be tasted to be believed! Our mains were steaks and ribs all so tender! Our waiter treated us like we were his close friends and took care of our every request. He did service the way it should be done. We can’t wait to come back such a wonderful treat for all of us.
