The table service outside, rather than having to go inside, was a welcome change. Our server was friendly and quick. The portion sizes were large and the food was tasty.
We unfortunately waited for an hour and a half for our meal at this restaurant. While we understand that the place was busy, being informed in advance that there would be a long wait would have been appreciated. We will not be returning. It is disappointing as we previously loved this place, but this is not the way to treat customers.
The food and view at this restaurant were absolutely incredible! I even got to bring my little dog and sit outside. It was the best dining experience I've ever had.
I don’t have one positive thing to say. We had reservations at 12:30. The food took 1 hour and 45 minutes to come so we were eating at 2:15. No one apologized for the long wait. I had ordered a Cesar salad and it was absolutely drenched in dressing. I could sink my fork in the dressing completely in the bottom of the bowl. My family’s meals were so so but a side of fries were like 10 fries. The portions were tiny. I didn’t have to pay for my yucky salad, but our bill for one adult and two kids was $70. We left tired and hungry and annoyed. It’s in such a beautiful location but I just don’t think I’d ever go back ever.
We have been coming to the Black Goose since 2016. It is always one of the first stops we make. We were shocked at the prices on the menu. A simple chicken and vegetable pie for one is $28. One piece of cod with chips was $24. (We had a fish dinner a few days later at Trees Restaurant or $13.99). A dinner for two with no drinks, no desserts, no appetizers was $63. That is outrageous!
