Gecko Pizza and Take Away - Parkes

I decided to try out Gecko for a pizza in an effort to support local businesses. It was recommended to me by a coworker. Upon entering, I noticed that one drinks fridge was not working and the other two were low in stock. The two staff members working were polite and friendly to me, despite being a stranger. I ordered a large meatlovers pizza after the menu was pointed out to me (which was blue tacked to the wall). The pizza was prepared and I took it to go. However, when I opened the box, I noticed oil and grease stains from the pizza had soaked into the base of the box. I had to put down paper towels on the counter to absorb the oil seeping through. The toppings on the pizza were generous but lacked flavor. The base was crispy and tasty. Overall, I don't think I will be returning for another pizza, which is unfortunate as I like to support local establishments.

Although I was hesitant, I decided to try out this local small business for dinner instead of the usual franchise chains. I ordered a pizza and the only positive thing I can say is that it was served hot. The service was adequate and the premises were clean, but the pizza itself was disappointing. It was not as good as Dominos, with an overwhelming amount of olives and pineapple, bland sauce, minimal cheese, and no seasoning.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The old-style pizza was amazing with generous toppings and incredibly tasty. There were plenty of other menu options that all looked delicious as well. The coffee was good too. The service was friendly and great.
