Le Poulpry - Paris 7e Arrondissement

The restaurant was everything I had hoped for — and more. We were celebrating my husband’s 65th birthday and I wanted something special: romantic and quiet with really good food. It was all that — with wonderfully attentive wait staff to boot. The food was not only delicious, it also came presented in such attractive platings, I did that thing I swore never to do: I took photos of each course before we ate it. We will return!

We had a great lunch here before visiting the Musee d'Orsay. The room and the service were both lovely although a little more formal than we normally prefer. The dining room is very quiet, making you feel like you need to whisper. Some music, as was playing in the foyer, would improve the ambiance. And some of the service was a little tentative. But these are very minor quibbles. We took the 3 course lunch menu, turned into 4 with an amuse bouche of a smoked salmon rillette with brioche to start. And it was all lovely delicious food, beautifully presented in perfect portions. We took wine pairings as well and they brought us a few to taste before making our choices. The citrus dessert was one of the best of our trip.

What a great find! The food was terrific, service was exceptional and the ambience warm and welcoming. Would recommend this restaurant highly!
