Takara - Paris

[FRENCH/ENGLISH]__A good Japanese restaurant even if it is a little expensive to my taste.

Ok, first off great sushi! My dad owned sushi restaurants when I was younger so I am really picky when it comes to getting quality sushi But.

I came back from Giverny and wanted to eat Japanese food near the Pyramides neighborhood.

Having read some positive reviews of Takara, we walked in for dinner at 7.45pm & had no trouble finding a table free. The service was friendly & prompt & we were impressed with the range of options on the menu. We shared some sashimi, sushi, pickled verges & an avocado salad to begin - then had two main dishes. I would definitely return if I had more time in Paris.

Once you have visited Japan it is not easy to get the same feeling in a place outside Japan. Takara is the closest I got to it and we had a wonderful lunch. A mix of new and well known food served in the humble and gentle way so well known from Japan. We had a variety of shared starters and mains including classic miso soup and sushi which was of course excellent however I recommend to go beyond the classical menu items and seek out some specials and you will not be exploring new and interesting dishes.
