Contribuiți la feedbackI visited le verre siffleur with a friend for tee on 2nd october. only one person under the personal, a young girl, wore a mask (a self-made cloth mask, not the standard surgical, a 90% human wear.) there was a...small guy who worked behind the bar and also went around the restaurant, which was very loud and continuous the whole time we were there! he didn't even wear a mask and he didn't seem to care at all. when we got covid, we'll know when and where it was. the personal checks very carefully all passport sanitaries of customers, but how do the customers know if the personal himself has a passport sanitation? we felt so uncomfortable that we went out before the finish. to supplement injuries, they do not take credit card when their bill is under 15 euro (that is frankly 20 years ago, hallo! we are in 2021.) I am definitiw not back.
Great Paris bistro. Advised to book as it gets busy in the evening. Tables are very close with bags of atmosphere and lots of conversations going on. If you want a quiet intimate dinner this might not be the place, but if you want a...lively place to eat this just fits the bill. First course was cold meats with a glass of their Burgundy which went down very well. Main course Coquilles St Jacques with a glass of house white, both excellent. Service was good with very little wait especially considering how busy they were. Le Verre Siffleur is very close to the Alesia metro station. The bill came to about 40 Euros including coffee, which seemed very reasonable.
Booked a table as it was Friday night for 8pm expecting it to be busy. Arrived and given a table, after 10mins we had to get up and chase the waiting staff for menus. After another 15mins we had to chase them again to take...an order (no apology). After sitting at our table for a full 40mins we still had no drinks (not even water) and no sign of any food. The wine, water and also the food all arrived at once after 45mins and to be fair was ok. The fastest service of the night was the bill delivered in under 2mins! We did wonder if it was just us, but a couple sitting at the next table gave up and walked out after a similar scenario of chasing the waiting staff multiple times, they had been sitting for over 45mins and still no drinks never mind any food. The food is decent, but the service is absolutely awful, so can’t recommend this place to anyone. Hard to believe that a place with service this bad gets any repeat customers.
Even at 4pm the food was excellent. Not only the kitchen is open but real cooks are there preparing delicious dishes. The oeuf cocotte and the cabillaud were excellent (the vegetable samosas accompanying the codfish were amazing).
There we are at the table every noon for three days in this restaurant. Three days to four we have to test. nickel service. adorable and attentive personal. and of course the plate is really good. the dish of the day is a real dish of the day. Perfect. Tasteful. the only critic, to make a !!! concerns the gourmet coffee that is accompanied by a very special cake. It's a shame because we're leaving the establishment on this disappointment. (good to say the next day I cracked to enjoy them with real homemade chocolate. I have this day left the establishment by being at the angels!)
