This is not a place that I found on Trip Advisor but rather by accident.... which makes it all the more appealing. When we first came upon Leon de Bruxelles I was initially skeptical, since their menu reminded me somewhat of a menu you would find in a restaurant chain .... with the menu showing glossy photos of the food being ordered ... but how wrong I was. My guests and I were in the mood for lunch and as we were walking we noticed the large buckets of mussels being served at Leon de Bruxelles and decided to try it out. Needless to say, when most everyone in the restaurant seems to be eating mussels and mussels are prominently shown on the menu .... why would anyone take the risk of ordering anything but mussels. Each of us ordered steamed mussels but each was prepared differently... Slightly salted butter, shallots, white wine and fresh parsley Dijon mustard with shallots and wine Madras curry, garlic, white wine and fresh cream All were very good, but the one with Dijon mustard was our favorite. After consuming the mussels there was the reward of the delicious juices at the bottom of the pot which we quickly soaked up with the delicious French bread. Accompanying the mussels were excellent pommes frites and a very crisp salad was served as the first course. Finally desert..... we all ordered waffles with ice cream...and they were perhaps the most delectable waffles we've ever eaten....light yet crispy, absolutely delicious when served with a scoop of ice cream. The price of all this, excluding drinks ....about Euros per person !!! We all returned a few days later for dinner..... and nothing changed accept the portions were larger. Yes, the prices were slightly higher too but the price was still extremely reasonable relative to the quality of the food being served.
Eating was quite average, and the service medium, easy to accept. for the price range and the iconic position this is not a performance. Apart from selling Belgian food, we fight to find something remarkable there.
Terrible. casserole steak unmelted cheese on burgers. rock hard shellfish. bad service for over the best prices. handful cold french french french service terrible. would avoid it. much better place. shame other leon in the republic a completely different experience. manager
Yeah, it's a chain, but it's a good one. who thought that one could build a food empire that is a low shellfish, but that is one. each bowl will have good tastes and I could not find any bad in the whole bowl. their quality control is very good. make sure to try one of their special selection of muscheln.
This is just my another time coming to this restaurant and now I'm trying to enjoy other branch. Good food, same taste with other branch. Special ambience.. Miss the place...
