Contraste - Paris

The restaurant is lovely and charming. The set menu didn 't live up to the E250 per person price point; for example, two of the courses repeated similar ingredients and similar appearance. The meat course was pheasant in pastry.... we would have expected that in a country inn, but not a one Michelin star restaurant. The sommelier was delightful.... absolutely lovely. However, we were surprised when he asked if we wanted our wine glasses changed . There was no sense at all that it was New Year 's Eve no decorations, no sense of excited. The restaurant was absolutely empty by 11.30pm which we found very odd.

Superb moment with contrast that bears its name so well, contrast in tastes, contrast in the textures of each dish, contrast in the decoration of the room between modernity and tradition. Everything's here to have a good time. Thanks to the chefs, waitu.rs.ses and sommelier for this dinner that deserves his star!
