Café Lux - Paris

Great food. Authentic taste with a modern twist. Service is really nice, eating outside very quite. I will come back for sure!

For a place that prides itself in having only 1 dish, you would think they would have nailed their dish to perfection. But alas what a let down. I have had vietnamese dishes all my life in Paris, Vietnam, the US, and this bo bun is at best a 'Meh... '... average! The rice noodles used are one dimensional, thick and plentiful with little beef meat and 2 small little nems... there is plentiful veggie garnishes but the sauce was lacking both in quantity and spiciness. So the overall effect is well very underwhelming for 15 euros a bowl... about 2x more expensive than other places in less trendy areas. If you want a satisfying meal, it 'a not your place. If you have never had Bo Bun, it 's a good place to start, but nowhere as good as they advertise it esp if that 's the only thing they make. The desserts are super expensive too, a strawberry tart slice is 8 euros! What a scam! Avoid it if you want a really satisfying meal. If you don 't mind Ok food and just want to sit and be seen near the Atelier des Lumieres, this could be your place.

Here they only have Bo bun and Bun chai on the menu but with a choice of desserts (French and one Vietnamese specialty). The Bo bun was everything you expect from a Bo bun fresh flavours of the herbs and salad, marinated meat, crunchiness of the nem, and delicate touch to the noodles all brought together by the nuoc mam and yet even better. Every care has been taken with every ingredient and it shows on the plate, making it a real delight to savour every mouthful. Must mention the desserts that were very good we had a strawberry tart with marscapone cream on shortbread pastry and it was delicious. This is a local family type bistrot where you are charmed by the location, food and very friendly service. Recommend if in the area.

Ce restaurant présente un excellent Bo Bun: les ingrédients sont de qualité et le dosage subtil. Cependant le Bo Bun normal peut être décevant par sa taille, en cas de faim moyenne ou grosse, ne pas hésiter à prendre le Maxi Bo Bun. Atmosphère conviviale et sympathique.

Si le bobun est excellent (mais très cher) le service est infecte : le patron est tellement désagréable que nous ne reviendrons plus jamais.
