Contribuiți la feedbackWe both ordered the veal and the food was tasty, flavoursome and hearty. I had mine with noodles whilst hubs had his with saute potatoes. We sat outside and had a thoroughly pleasant evening. The house white wine is not so good but this is...only my opinion.
The waiter was very kind and friendly. Advice of waiter: menu of the day and it made us full enough. Excellent!
This food was absolutely delicious. If you're going for the food I definitely recommend this place. If you're looking for decor and all the bells and whistles this may not be for you. We ate at Le Cinq and even though the food here isn't...quite to that level it is very close for the price. My wife and I had three courses each and a bottle of wine for about euro. After the meal you have to go up the stairs to work off the calories just consumed, a great Parisian surprise.
Au Pied du Sacre Coeur is exactly what I needed after travelling across from London with my friends. Delicious French recipes served with a smile my lamb shank was completely delicious, with the meat falling off the bone and the vegetables delicious from slowly...cooking. The restaurant is only a short distance from the touristy heart of Montmartre, but it doesn't compromise on quality and it didn't feel like it was a tourist-centred place, in spite of the availability of English-language menus and our server's very good English. For a delicious French meal that won't hit your pocket too hard, look no further.
How this restaurant received good reviews I will never know! I wonder if they were fake?! We went here as my young daughter wanted to try frogs legs and we saw on tripadvisor that they served them here. We arrived and were a bit concerned...at the look of the place, quite run down, small flies in abundance and ripped seating having walked here for the frogs legs we decided that you can’t judge a book by its cover, (some of the best food we had in Thailand was in places with plastic garden chairs and let’s give it a go. There was the added bonus that on both trip advisor and the fork it said there was upto off of you booked ahead. Our food arrived, four of us had steak, one x frogs legs. One entrecôte steak was edible and ok, the other three were very poor, mine in particular being almost entirely fat it was vile. (I even held if up in one long fatty strip with my fork once the meal was finished to show them) Accompanied by raw vegetables and chips that tasted of stale fat and were hard and cold I went very hungry. The frogs legs I’m sure are an acquired taste, my daughter didn’t like them and my husband( who is a human dustbin) said they tasted really off too, it could have been the menu choice on this occasion though. The worst part of the night was still to come! The bill arrived and we reminded them that there was meant to be a discount for booking ahead, on trip advisor it stated ‘up to and on the fork it said off’ both for booking ahead, which we had done. The manager (I guess daughter of the chef/owner) said that this was only for weekdays and we were there on a weekend. We asked her to show us where on the websites they were claiming this discount on it showed that and she kept saying it was wrong. Now I don’t know a lot about being a restaurant on these websites but I’m sure trip advisor and the fork don’t make adverts like this without being advised of the offers by the restaurant?!?!? We said that this wasn’t right and it was misrepresented and they started shouting at us really aggressively. My daughter was showing the manager the fork website and t&cs on her phone and they tried to snatch her phone from her hand!!! It was all even more vile than our food!! In the end I paid the bill minus the cost of my inedible food in cash and we walked out I actually wish I hadn’t, I just had to get my children out of that environment. We left with the chef/owner screaming expletives at us and shaking his fists. DO NOT GO HERE!! disgusting on so many levels
