Old Chicago Pizza Taproom Papillion

The music was a bit too loud for a Sunday morning. With a party of nine, it was challenging to find a spot without waiting. Overall, it met our needs!

Our experience was disappointing from the start. We had a reservation for nine people, and when we arrived, they had a table ready but no chairs. They apologized, saying that two tables for ten had been seated before us. After we finally got seated, the booster seat we requested for our two-year-old never arrived. The pizza was terrible; despite ordering two different types of crust—hand-tossed and thin—they both came out the same. This is not the Old Chicago I remember. What happened?

I would approach this with a bit more caution. Although I had a reservation for four people at 5:45 PM, when we arrived, we were informed that our table wouldn't be available until that time. There were six other open tabs at the time. Ten minutes later, right at 5:45 PM, we noticed a party before us getting seated. After reminding them of our reservation, a very nice manager came over and accommodated us at the last available table set for five, even though we only needed a table for four. There were no other reservations in sight, and the manager mentioned they were short-staffed that day. Given this experience, I’m hesitant to rely on reservations at Old Chicago in the future.

Our server was great, very pleasant. Kitchen service was slow but we weren't in a hurry. Hostess was very poor at her job, told us we would be seated in a few minutes then told us it would be a while since their kitchen was behind. She needed additional training to be able to handle the front of resident on a busy Friday night.

Old Chicago typically has pretty good food and a wide selection of drinks. I was trying to finish the mini tasting tour but it was the last day and they were out of most of the beers so that was very disappointing. We had a group of 6 and the service was very good.
