Panguitch Gem Theater

After a day hiking and siteseeing around Bryce National Park we decided to relax by seeing a movie as we saw the theater next door to the place we had lunch the previous day. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 was playing and none in our group had seen it, so we thought it would be a good way to relax. The 3 guys behind the counter were helpful and just about everyone had ice cream of some kind of candy to take into the theater. We are all seniors and the price was $6.50 to see the movie, and they only had maybe 5 minutes of reviews before the actual movie started. Although the theater was pretty empty, 4 of us chose to sit in the balcony and the other 4 in the lower seats. The balcony seats in the first two rows were more comfortable according to one couple who tried downstairs and then came upstairs, but everyone in our group enjoyed the atmosphere, the people, the movie and the theater.

Old school movie theater with great food. Game room, dinosaur fossils, gems, and creamy ice cream. Glad we decided to catch a movie here.

We stopped at this place in the evening while the Balloon Festival was happening in the streets. They were the only place open late enough to grab food/drinks. We also had their Raspberry Lemonade sherbet and boy was it SOUR. So tart my face is stillfeeling the effects days later. I would recommend this place for sure. the staff was really nice and the ice cream was good.

Have a blue corn tamale (gluten free and vegan) to go for 4 dollar. the place is really cool and I was happy to bump around while I waited for my order. when I came back to my motel, I really regretted not 2 or 3. I am a sucker for cilantro, but still this tame was delicious! it seems that they sometimes have vegan cookies, but not when I was there.

I absolutely love this place! It's a small, local restaurant with delicious food. I had the hot tamale plate and they even play movies here. The ice cream selection is huge!
