The everything seasoned cheese bun was very good. i was expecting it to be savory, like cream cheese or cheddar, but its actually sweet glazing with a danish cheese filling! Very interesting flavor.
I first learned about tono coffee project a year or two ago when I was visiting Palo Alto from Sacramento. At the time I had already gotten coffee from Blue Bottle on University Ave, but made a mental note to go the next time I was in town. They have coffee available for take out only, so that is just something you should keep in mind when you come. I was able to find parking immediately in front on Easter Sunday around 10 a.m. The decor and vibe of this place are very cool even though it is take out only. The barista who helped me I got the vibe might also have been the owner or at the very least was highly trained since he was putting latte art on all the drinks. I got a 10oz Oat Mocha (vegan) and it was delicious and something that I would seek out again the next time I am in Palo Alto. They also serve baked goods and Vietnamese chocolate bars and while none of the baked goods are vegan all of the Vietnamese chocolate bars are vegan. The chocolate bars were all sourced from a different part of Vietnam and I picked up four of them to give to my family members for Easter when I saw them later that day. Overall, a great experience and I definitely plan on coming back.
Cute little pop up coffee shop! Their coffee was pretty smooth and tasted perfect with their pastries. Barista oat milk is used and you can opt to add some sugar. They have different sizes but I think they all cost the same, not sure why, so just get the regular which I believe is the largest. From their pastry case I got the Matcha Yuzu Almond Cookie which I totally recommend! It is like a macaron and a cookie had a baby. The texture is like a chewy macaron and the citrusy flavor really came through. For seating they only have a small bench on the sidewalk to be prepared to sit there or take your order to go. According to their instagram they will close shop in 1-2 months so get a try in before they're gone!
The best coffee in the Bay Area. Always consistent, perfect extraction, beautiful execution. The pastries are also unique and delicious, and you can buy Fossa chocolate here!
