The Melt - Palo Alto

The Melt is a menu option at the Local Kitchens restaurant at 369 California Ave in Palo Alto. The menu features the most popular items such as: Melted Classics, MeltBurgers, Mac 'n Cheese, Fries and Soup. On New Year 's Day, I ordered the MeltBurger w/ lettuce and tomato added (free). Now, I have been to all five Local Kitchens restaurants, and have ordered this same burger at 4 of the 5 places. Is the food quality consistent? The MeltBurger, is a 1/3-lb beef patty, cooked medium and it 's pink and juicy. It 's coated with melted cheese. Then they add a chopped jalapeño/pickle mix. There 's also various add-on options like bacon, egg, onions, and double patties (extra cost). I added free lettuce and tomato. My price: 7.99. How was it? This is a good cheeseburger and cooked the way I like it! It 's cooked medium, so it 's still juicy. I think the cheese coats the patty, and helps seal in the juices. The hint of jalapeno gives it a little spice, but not much. They put it on a toasted bun. Toasting caramelizes the bread, and prevents the meat juices from making the sandwich soggy. But it doesn 't matter if you eat the burger right away! Food 's flavor and quality is best when it 's fresh from the kitchen. You can enjoy this at Local Kitchen Palo Alto because they have indoor/outdoor dining. Of course, there 's takeout and delivery. You can save some by picking up your own food. Just download the Local Kitchens App, and you can see where all the locations are. Place your order, and the app tells you when it 's ready. So overall, a good cheeseburger. Local Kitchens Palo Alto is located at 369 California Ave, near the Starbucks. California Ave is currently closed to traffic. Extremely popular. Came for Impossible Burgers. They were more dry than others we'd had. Staff seemed overwhelmed by the crowd.

They made my favorite 1/2 pound bison mushroom Swiss md rare to perfection. Staff was super nice. The location is smaller than other Counters I’ve been to but the food was as good as ever. Free Parking in the back as well as in the street. Lots of other places to visit on California Ave after your meal.

If you're looking for an out of the ordinary, delicious burger,this is the place. This storefront restaurant had figured out how to get it right. After being seated, you're handed a menu and a check off list with dozens of options. Choices of protein, including bison and meatless, bun, cheeses, garnish, condiments, toppings and sides- combinations endless. I chose the bison burger on brioche, guyere,garlic aioli,organic greens, grilled red onions, avocado, side of shoestring fries. Best burger I've ever eaten, perfection. All of our lunch party declared the food fantastic. Service was spot on, provided by server Lucy. Atmosphere is good busy. Yummmmm!

Really good burgers and the like for a average cost in the Palo Alto area. Nice outdoor seating, dog friendly, heat lamps for outside in case it gets chilly and friendly staff.
