Cafe Pro Bono - Palo Alto

The Duck confit mushroom risotto was hands down perfectly done. Best I have ever had, I was so pleasantly surprised. Plus they are open later until 10 so we went after a football game.

Arrived early for a quiet corner table where my friend and I could catch up. Menu and specials looked great, hard to decide. Friendly waiter answered all our questions. The salad special with jicama, fresh peaches, and more was a plateful, refreshing and ORGANIC. The butter lettuce, goat cheese, apple salad champagne dressing--a hit. The fresh Squid Pasta (Diavola w/ lobster prawns in lemon vodka cream sauce was a treat! My friend ordered duck breast w/grand marnier-balsamic sauce--tender perfection, she loved it! The panna cotta was silky delicousness, my friend enjoyed her apple caramel tart. Everything made in-house. A very convivial place to take it easy, enjoy friends, wine, and exceptional food. You can't go wrong! We'll be returning to try the other oh-so tempting dishes : .

My husband enjoyed the quid pasta with lobster and shrimp very much! I was also pleased with my tagliatelle with smoked chicken. Liked the fact that the food was organic and the tiramisu was great! Will be back the next time we are in Palo Alto!

The wine list and the food are wonderful. I had the mahi-mahi with the lemon risotto. My friend had the horseradish crusted salmon. We both ate every morsel. The service is caring and not overbearing. I'll be back soon.

We always enjoy going to Cafe Pro Bono. We were celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary. My wife and I were joined by Family members and good Friends. As always, we were met with a warm, welcoming greeting by the owner when we arrived. The waiter was very engaging and attentive and had a great sense of humor. The food was excellent as always. We had a wonderful time such a great place to celebrate a very important day in our lives. To the entire staff at Cafe Pro Bono THANK YOU!!!!! See you soon. Thanks.
