La Patio Café - Palmerston North

The atmosphere is quite peaceful, likely a result of COVID-19, but it could benefit from some background music. Aside from that, the food is delicious and the portion sizes are generous. After our appetizers and main courses, we were too full for dessert. I definitely recommend trying the ribs as an appetizer!

I enjoyed a date night dinner here last week, and our main course was absolutely divine! I was surprised to see the poor overall rating. My husband and I both ordered the Angus beef steak with duck fat potatoes and carrot pearls, and it was beautifully cooked and presented. However, the rhubarb crumble for dessert felt a bit amateur, topped with those chocolate wafer sticks commonly found in supermarkets around Christmas, and I suspect it had been microwaved. Overall, though, the main course was perfect, and the service was attentive with generous wine servings. I would definitely return to try the High Tea!

I just enjoyed a wonderful dinner at La Patio after a long drive from Auckland! For the appetizer, we had duck spring rolls, and for the main course, my husband ordered the scotch fillet with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables, while I opted for potato croquettes. The steak was perfectly cooked medium rare and topped with a delicious mushroom sauce. We started with a Hãhã Sauvignon Blanc and paired it with a Merlot for the main course. The service was attentive and genuinely aimed at making our dining experience exceptional. If you value being appreciated as a customer and are tired of the indifferent service often found in big cities, La Patio is the place to go. It truly restored our faith in both restaurant service and the quality of meals!

Liked meal. Pork belly lovely hot vegetables. Very tasty but found service quite slow. Seated at 6pm no service until 6.40.
