Contribuiți la feedback2 youngs owners have lots of talent. High quality of food, the highly sought tastes act as a natural talent . I knew that their father was a great cook who worked in Canada , Switzerland and Spain. Research and marriage of flavors gives results that you will not forget. Happy legacy THANK YOU
Lovely setting surrounded by flowers with superb food. Varied menu with good range of both starters and main course (couldn't manage desert! . Mine was lobster bisque to start, with John Dory fillets in lime sauce for the main, accompanied by a lovely fruity Chardonnay. Delicious.
On our holiday in Mallorca we visited Es Calo four times (in ten days). Wehad been before a few years ago, when it was under different Management. It was good then but now, under Paula and Ladi, I think its stepped up a few gears. We were staying locally in Betlem and the quality of Es Calo influenced our holiday to the extent that we visited four. Each time the food was excellent, the service perfect and very friendly. Twice I had the mixed Tapas starter to begin. It outstripped my expectations. The dish is perfectly put together and although it contains the essence of 5 different Tapas dishes it's not overwhelming. My wife, Angela, had the capaccio of Seabass three times if I remember correctly. I had it once. a perfect starter if you need a lighter evening meal. For the mains the stand out for me was the John Dory we had on the first night. All the food was excellent throughout. For wines they have a great choice of both local Mallorcan wines and wines from mainland Spain. We always try to drink locally so had the Pagos de Maria de Macia Batle. It was so good we had a second bottle on our next visit. On the Monday we went to the music night and were entertained while we dined. Because the Pagos de Maria had run out we had a bottle from the mainland (Vina Pilar) very good but not quite as good as the Pagos de Maria. The service was friendly and very good. Paula and Ladi are lovely people. Both Angela and I felt a rapport very quickly. We ordered our choices in Spanish but kept lapsing into Italian. As they speak fluent Spanish, German and English it was not a problem. Es Calo is in a sleepy, quiet and very beautiful part of Mallorca but it is well worth going out of your way to find it. I thoroughly reccomend it and am looking forward to a return visit.
We visited this restaurant on our first night of our holidays. we were the only people eating in the restaurant and we were staying near and we say very few people actually eating in the establishment. The food was average but not value for money r
We visited this restaurant because it was 50 yards from where we were staying on holiday... and there are only 2 restaurants in Betlem! We were so glad we did. The service was excellent friendly and professional and English speaking. Although they do not specifically have a children's menu they told us that any of the dishes could be done in a child size or they offered other dishes which could be made. On the wine list, it was possible to have a 1/2 litre of wine which is great because sometimes you don't want to have a whole bottle. The food we had (3 courses) all tasted wonderful and beautifully presented (and generous portions which is not always the case with fine dining). We sat on the outside terrace which was very pleasant (booking advisable). Overall, it is not cheap, but that reflects in the quality of the food and service, and it is worth paying the extra to visit this restaurant rather than one of the other run of the mill touristy places.
