Possibly the best sandwich I've ever had, the Cubano. It was thick with meat and very juicy, where sometimes they are dry. The first bite was all I needed to know. I was only going to eat half and take half home, but I had to finish it right there. Very comfortable restaurant. I didn't like the pounding drumbeat music, but that's personal taste. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very speedy and very attentive. Great experience.
We just went for a quick lunch. The menu has a good variety. We both had corn chowder which was very good and quite hot. We followed this with a sandwich which also was good. The included fries were especially tasty. Our server was in a big hurry and didn't communicate well. We had to wait quite a while to receive the check as he was busy with many other tables. The prices are very high for just soup and sandwich. They are open on Mondays (many PS restaurants are closed).
Plagued with bad recent experiences from our trusted Brunch sources, we tried 1501.Brilliant from start to finish. Back the following week and it was even better.
This place has a nice atmosphere and we were seated and served quickly. However the food really fell short. I ordered the “chicken under a brick” dish and it was very lackluster. After pulling back a large piece of fatty skin there was almost no real meat, and it had very little flavor. Additionally, the chicken sat on top of potatoes that were loaded with oil or butter, and I got 3 tiny carrots. From a health perspective this dish would get an F. Finally, the meal was served on a chipped plate and no effort was made to add a simple garnish. At $29 dollars just for the main course this was very disappointing and I would not return.
