Wow, what a find. A small hole in the wall with big flavor and some unusual items. I had the hot tamale plate, how original is that, blew my taste buds open, in the best possible way. Wife had the chicken and ribs, she is a fan. Don't pass thus place up. We will be back for sure. My only thing is, the banana pudding was lacking the nilla cookies, but still great flavor. Great atmosphere, and a fun staff with a lot of lively decorations with clever quips. The food, however, was disappointing. While the pulled pork sandwich was a generous size, the BBQ sauces were all runny , which ended up in the bread more than the meat. The fries were overcooked. My husband and I love the steak dinner. It is so good, and plentiful that we split everything except the deviled eggs, and the tomato salad. The steak is always cooked, and seasoned to perfection, no sauce needed, indeed it would be a sin. Tender, and not fatty, everything a great steak should be. The tamale plate is also tasty, and original. Four tamales covered house made chili, cheese, and jalapenos. Served with a side of coleslaw and deviled egg. The catering has also been reliable, tasty, and affordable. Parking: The parking lot is not big, and not paved. Kid-friendliness: I know that we've seen families there with children.
