Contribuiți la feedbackI shouldn't even waste my time but be forewarned... Bland is being generous to describe the food for the entire meal. We were a small group of 5 which the restaurant was going to seat us at a table large enough for 10-12. Asking for a smaller table we already experienced the first uncomfortable feeling of just how the rest of the meal would go. A really bad attitude from the hostess seating us. Pretty much downhill from there. The waiter, whose name tag said 789, not his name came over to the table (in a timely fashion) and never gave his name. He said we could just refer to him as 789. He proceeded to tell us about his favorite items on the menu. Yup, you guessed it. The most expensive items short of the lobster. My wife ordered one of the signature cocktails of the night and asked if it was sweet and questioning if simple syrup was used. He, without hesitation said no. We should have asked if it was made with multiple spoons of sugar because it was the sweetest drink we have ever tasted. Coke has less sugar. It went downhill from there. The food was bland, boring, under seasoned, and tasteless. How this restaurant could be so crowded absolutely amazed everyone at our table. Stopped at Publix on the way home and picked up chicken tenders to eat. They were delicious. Don't waste your hard earned money or time with this SUBPAR establishment. Should have listened to the other reviews!
This is our third time here and the service has consistently gone downhill. To keep it as brief as possible. Our server was #789 and that is how he introduced himself...when asked his name...789. We introduced ourselves by first name...he still789. Tired of the upsell attempt, the responses of perfect choice wonderful etc. He when describing the menu had more than five personal favorites most involving lobster. NO sense of humor at all. And tired of being asked if everything is delicious when you have just received your food. Mussels in a little bit of wine were with a cream sauce...awful! My wife did enjoy her lemon sole. When we received the check it DID have the servers name...Newman. So why not tell us his name when asked?? The band (if that is what it was...three piece or something) was almost as bad as the server. Canned music would have been better. Enough time spent on this review!!
When I moved to Florida from New York three years ago, I was told how good City Fish was as a seafood restaurant and the first time my wife and I dined there, we found it rather enjoyable, to the extent that we returned several times. Unfortunately, each time, seemed to be a tiny bit less enjoyable than the previous visit. Last night I took my NewYork family including grandkids for dinner. Surroundings are lovely and the place has a nice upscale vibe. We made reservations for 5 but nevertheless were cramped into a table for 4 so one of our guests had to sit on the outside of the table. The waiter was an older man and very friendly but completely incompetent. Twice he forgot the bread, he had to ask what type of oysters were being served, he had to ask what type of liquors were available...The prices would be considered reasonable if the food was good and prepared well, however it was not. My wife had an alleged 1 and half pound lobster that could not have been more that a pound and a quarter at most- plus it was dry. Now thats not always the restaurants fault so we gave them a pass. My grandson had a piece of sauteed bass that was a big as my palm. Another person has a piece of snapper that we barely visable on the plate. I started with bluepoint oysters that were so small and literally dried out that it was inexcusable to include them as a first course of a two course dinner for $45. A margarita arrived in a straight soda glass which had to be returned because they forgot the salt. What happened to this place and why have they deteriorated so much in three years. As musc as I used to like this restaurant, we will no longer be returning.
My husband and I stayed at the Hilton next door for several months during a home renovation. We love the Happy hour at City Fish. The happy hour menu has the best fish tacos in town and the live music is great. We had dinner with couples during regular hours from the main menu and I was disappointed. City fish does not offer interesting salads! The salads are very average to below average basic dinner salads. Most restaurants in the area feature amazing health nut salads with Salmon, shrimp and chicken options. We'd love to see interesting salads added to the menu.
Do not go there. We had to wait a half hour for our table. Then once we got to our table, we waited another half hour for a drink. The manager is so rude. She kept saying they’re setting our table. If she had just been honest. I will n ver go there again. Boca has plenty of options.
