Contribuiți la feedbackWe were disappointed to find that one of our favorite restaurants with vegan options on the island, convenient to the hotels in palm beach, had changed peculiarities and our fav vegan options were no longer. we stopped and asked if they could make something vegan and were excited to meet the inspired chef. he came to our table, asked us a few questions, and with maximum trust and flexibility on our side, he created two amazing dinners (yes, only restaurant we went twice during our visit from a background) that were delicious, 5 stars if happy cow would allow. we hope he adds the creations he made for us to the menu. reasonable prices, delicious food. updated from previous review on 2017-01-15
Was good! but now no vegan options on the menu. ( 5 years ago)
We had just come to aruba a few hours before, we had no idea where we eat and we stumbled over the lazy turtle. I think these are new owners and they have nothing vegan on the menu, but the host called the cook over our table, I told him of my vegan requirements, he thought about it for about 15 seconds and came with an idea what to whistle. it was very tasty and cheap. must be willing to trust the cook to come with something based on what he is at the market this day. I will try to suggest to him that he thinks to build his repertoire of vegans.
I always hate to leave bad reviews when the staff is so nice! I just leave this review to warn others more vegan to save their money. the staff was very friendly, but eating was so dirty and expensive, I was quite disappointed: points for the bruschetta we just asked for without cheese) as it was quite good, but the pad thai with tofu left much to wish. it was extremely expensive and I only ate a few bites. the tofu was extremely dry and tasteless. there should be the aromen of everything else in the plate, but unfortunately there was no one. because the tofu was not very good, was all that remained in the pad thai were the reisnudels, sose and edgy, and there was not much sose / flavor, so it felt kind of like pasta eating. I had in the past nice pad thai and unfortunately this is not it. Maybe the other elements on the menu were better, but I would pass definitiw on the pad thai.
Perhaps I had a more positive impression simply because I went in expecting so little (Paseo Herencia is... ugh), but I really liked the Kuvuta Tofu dish. My partner got the banana-leaf fish dish that has the same sauce and also loved it. While the side of rice could have been more generous, the dish itself seemed like a good portion to me and I left satisfied. As for the atmosphere: do you enjoy strip-mall style dining, one step more elegant than a food court? If yes, then you will really like it here. If not, it won 't be the greatest experience ambience-wise, but passable. We each ordered one drink and neither of us were impressed there, though perhaps their other bar offerings are better.
