Contribuiți la feedbackThis is the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in Palermo. I made a reservation for lunch at 12:30 today. I have a written confirmation from The Fork. We arrived on time and we were told they were not serving until 1 PM. They asked us if we would like to see their wine bar next store. We were seated, but we were not told it’s a completely different menu. We agreed to have a charcuterie plate and some wine as the kitchen did not open till 1 PM. We ordered a bottle of Grillo. We were told the wine we wanted was not available. We told them we would like a Grillo; instead, they brought us a Chardonnay/inzolia blend. After we finished the charcuterie, we were told about the few warm dishes they had available. We were asked if we could order from the restaurant menu and we were told no, to go back next door if we wanted to eat there. We asked for our check and left. We were treated like tourists. The funny thing is that I actually live here in Palermo, quite close to the restaurant. Why did the restaurant accept a 1230 reservation if they could not honor it? Why didn’t they just ask us if we could wait until 1 PM? It’s not like we were served any faster in the wine bar. The service was not only atrocious, he was rude.
Best charcuterie and steaks and the sauces were incredible. The green peppercorn and porcini mushroom sauces are amazing compliments to the steaks. And the dessert was not just beautiful but was also delicious. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and.very passionate about the food. They were on point with reading the table and attending to the guests. A definite two thumbs up and highly recommended when in Palermo!
If you ask/listen to your waiter and wine director, you will have a fabulous meal, incredible local wines and outstanding service in a beautiful ambiance. Wonderful experience!
The bartender/sommelier was extraordinary gracious,engaging, , knowledgeable a talented craftsman of his trade who wasn’t shy about experimenting. He was art in motion. The food was delicious, I would have preferred more fish chicken offerings I don’t eat red meat but my fellow diners were wowed by the preparation presentation. A truly wonderful dinner. Enjoy.
