Contribuiți la feedbackI am sorry to write this review which is all only about the price, as location and personnel are indeed very kind. I fell in love with the interior decor, and stopped by to have a cold drink. As they served cans as such, and I prefer home made stuff, I asked whether it was possible to get some squeezed fresh lemon in a glass of water...after all we are in Sicily, Palermo Conca d'oro!! Plenty of lemons! I got it and was very happy, but the price I payed for it was 4€!!!! I could not believe my eyes! Just for 2/3 squeezed lemons and some ice cubes the price was way too much. Sorry, but is this wine bar just meant to be for tourists from rich countries or what? The man who made the price said this is the price for an orange fresh juice, but I always pay 2€/2.50€ for it (in other places in downtown). I was shocked, still I am...
Such a lovely place! We came sweat and got at we needed and more! Super service and lovely staff. Most of all the place was truly beautiful with all the plants and charming furniture
We accidentally came across this wonderful wine bar with gorgeous decoration. Stefano was very informative and spoke english fluently. One can book wine tasting in advance for a very reasonable price 15-22 euro per person for 3-5 glasses of wine. We had 2 glasses of sicilian wine and tomato bruschetta and paid 11 euro which was a great deal since the wine alone wad not cheap (around 25 euro to buy from any cava). Will definitely visit again!
Visited : Thursday 13, September 2018 Type of visit : couple What we had : two glasses of unspecified white wine at 5 euro each. We were lured by the nice atmosphere the columns , the old theatre attached to it. A few tables outdoor occupied by a mix of foreign groups. What did we get: a large serving of arrogance and clear sign that the owner or manager doesn’t really give two damns about clients and what a client might wish to consume: he clearly thinks he is himself the star in that place and he will tell you that there is no menu and he himself is the menu . We asked for something similar to Leone a local Sicilian wine that we enjoy he said that his wines are all “artisanal” or “organic” and decided to serve us , not to offer us but serve us two glasses of a certain concoction that was cloudy , acidic, had a deep orangey yellow colour and tasted like cider . Tasted like those kind of home made wines made by some peasants in the inland of Sicily. We paid quickly and went. Pretentious, ridiculous, pathetic. Never again.
We can't recommend Garibaldi Caffe Letterario highly enough. The selection of bio wines is wide and deep, as is the knowledge of the English-speaking personnel. Tucked into a corner of Teatro Garibaldi, the HQ of Manifesta12 this year, this wine bar also offers a glimpse into the old Arab quarter of Palermo with its vibrant local color.
