Contribuiți la feedbackSadly one of the four of us was ill, which was very disappointing, but the three of us went anyhow, explaining the situation...We were warmly and sympathetically welcomed, and shown to a table by the window. The menu was extensive, with a varied prices, plus there were some 'suggestions for the day'.The service was excellent, our drinks order was taken efficiently and served quickly. One of us chose from the 'specials suggestions' one had mussels, one had lamb.....Agreed there was a wait, but only confirmed the food was cooked to order and fresh...The bread came with butter.....and was delicious. The dessert menu is very tempting, two had banana splits, and one creme brulee. Two had coffee....it was a perfect lunch, absolutely no complaints whatsoever. What was really kind was, I asked if we could have a 'take away' for our sick friend, and that was not a problem at all, it came beautifully packed. They all spoke some English, which with our fractured French meant we all understood each other!!!!.....most of the time!!!I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to others.....and although we come to France several times a year, we have never been to this restaurant before, but rest assured we will most certainly be back...Should say thank you for a lovely lunch especially to the chef.
Well After having tasted the Islandais, You can go to the Ecluse ! both are good. Despite of the number of tourists, service is good ans meals equals in quality. Winter is nice too to come
Terrible experience. after a good appetizer, the main dish was overcooked and clearly not fresh fish. forget about the service, it takes hours for anything (and we were there quite late, only a few tables were left). the odd one out of paimpol, a wonderful city we enjoyed so much with wonderful restaurants and nice people.
10 minute walk around the harbour from main group of restaurants. Outside seating rather drab but inside very attractive and comfortable. A little disappointed that as a couple we were not allowed to sit at window tables which were set up for 4 people. Food was varied and well presented.
Superb location with wonderful view of the boats in the port, and view of the rest of Paimpol. L'Ecluse means the Lock and the restaurant is right next to the lock entering the protected part of the port, so you may have the opportunity to see a boat coming through the lock. Fantastic food and good friendly service. My husband was taught to put ginger in his pepper sauces in future. Good choice of menus at various prices. Plenty of options for both fish lovers and meat lovers. Menus feature seafood, duck, steak. This restaurant gives you the chance to dress up a bit, so different from the rest of Brittany where casual is the norm. It is a restaurant for epicureans rather than fast food lovers. My husband and I chose the menu at 26 euros which like all other menus comprised 3 courses. You could also eat a la carte. For my starter I had a casolette of fruits de mer - seafood gratin of prawns, squid and mussels - delicious. My husband had a plateau of fruits de mer - all sorts of seafood; oysters, prawns, winkles, bulots and clams which was beautifully presented and very filling. We had the wine of the month which was a white Touraine Sauvignon. For my main course I enjoyed fillet of St Pierre (John Dory) fish with the familiar thumb print of St Peter, in a butter sauce with vegetables. My husband had steak and chips with a pepper sauce. These were both delicious. There was a great choice of desserts including a dessert of the day which was ile flottant, and the one I chose was profiteroles filled with pistachio ice cream with a sauce of caramel beurre sale (salted butter caramel). This was followed by coffee.I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and cannot think of anything to complain about and I am looking forward to visiting the restaurant again.
