The Wooden Crate - Paia

The food and service was outstanding. Charming eating area on the lanai. I ordered a vegetarian dish the Chef had prepared with fresh ingredients from the garden. My husband had the mahi-mahi. Best meals since our last trip to Maui. Will definitely be back. Looking forward to trying something new.

This is a beautiful little restaurant in a lovely setting. The food is spectacular and everything tasted so fresh. Our server was so kind and made everything that much better. Highly recommend when you’re in Maui and want to escape the crowds of tourists.

We made reservations here at the suggestion of our Airbnb host. Very happy I followed the suggestion. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and full of history I hope to come back and experience the Yoga retreat! Our server was extremely personable. She made us feel welcome and there was never a moment we found ourselves looking for her. She was born and rained on Maui, so it was fun chatting the little bit we did about what all we'd done. I am not a huge fan of curry, but that was the menu for the night. I was pleasantly surprised it was really good! My husband had the steak and he really enjoyed that as well. I love a true farm to table experience, and this was one. Absolutely recommend if you find yourself in Maui wanting some good food and ambience.

Very disappointing. Steak was over done,. The server did offer to re do but I decided to go with the pad Thai.(there were 3 entree options). The Pad Thai was less than acceptable for a good pad Thai. The sprouts overwhelmed. The taste was non memorable. Desert was a pan Scott’s which was fair. Non creamy and again, unremarkable. The price was outrageous. Very different from what is advertised. I would not recommend.
