Great experience here. Had a tremendous time with friends and family in an ideal venue with friends and family...will be back
What a loss! Personal attention from the man himself, unpretentious waiters who remembered you (no, really!). Good food. Lots of wine (good cellar). Just loved it. So sorry it has gone. We had our wedding dinner there and numerous family reunions over the years. As there is not an appropriate date for last attendance, I will use the oldest available date - acknowledging that it closed before that.
Very intimate and a bit like being in someone's posh dining room, but the food was a very nice surprise. We food this place by accident, whilst looking for another restaurant that was recommended. Although it appears posh, the waiters are very experienced and know a customers requirements no matter what. I think it might be a local secret, as it's not in a tourist or commercial area
This restaurant has attracted a loyal and faithful following of locals for decades. My husband used to come here when he was 18 with his friends. Run by the delightful owner who originated from Italy, this restaurant, on two levels, consistently offers fresh and delicious fare, with a regularly changing small menu providing something for every palette. Don't expect fawning waiters, they are busy. The restaurant is traditional in both its décor and cuisine, but this is what sets it apart in a city which is trying to be ultra modern often without success because the essentials are being forgotten. As a regular restaurant goer around the world, Darcy's stands up very well against any competition.
