Save-more Meat Market - Pacifica

I absolutely love this place! I mostly buy sirloin, Italian sausage, ground beef, and chicken breast here. The prices are unbeatable for the quality, and the staff is always so friendly. I also pick up dog food when I'm there, and my dogs love it—plus, it’s really affordable!

Excellent butcher shop. They grind their own meats and will cut them to your desired size. They also offer the 7 Blade chuck roast, which is rare to find. It's an incredibly tasty cut of meat for pot roast.

I make the drive from San Francisco to Save-More just to get bones for making stock. Creating a beautiful stock requires a lot of effort. When I sip and taste a wonderful stock, I think of the same terms used to describe fine wine: depth, velvety texture, brightness, and hints of pepper. On the other hand, using subpar ingredients leads to flavors that remind me of a sweaty motorcycle seat, musty cupboards, or wet wool—definitely not what I want in my stock. That's why I only buy the best bones from Save-More. I even tried to attach a video to show the perfect jiggle I aim for in my stock. Jiggle!

I absolutely love this meat shop. Their beef soup bones are perfect for pho, and the rich roasting beef marrow is fantastic for spreading on bread. They also offer shabu-style meat for hot pot, but be sure to give them a 3 to 4 hour notice so they can prepare the meat for optimal slicing. They have definitely become my go-to butcher!
