The Porterhouse Grill Rooms - Oxford

I had high expectations after reading the reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Excellent, friendly, relaxed but attentive service and the food was top notch. When you’re paying this much for steak it needs to be good and it really was. Highly recommended.

Fantastic accommodation, friendly staff, amazing food and only 10 minutes from the train station. We stayed for 2 nights and were thoroughly impressed by the facilities, sevice standard and breakfast was perfect. Would highly recommend!

My husband has been wanting to come here a while, so I booked for his birthday. What can I say, it was simply divine. We shared a chateaubriand, which was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and melt in the mouth tender. Peppercorn sauce was a lovely accompaniment, as was the delicious walnut salad and chips. So simple yet so delicious. Hubby had sticky toffee pudding which he really enjoyed afterwards. Lovely ambiance inside, great service and delicious food. Would highly recommend!

Booked this hotel in good faith months ago, I have just had an email putting the price up by £50 saying there online price was an error £165 per night. Avoid this place, awful behavior

Stopped in for dinner with business colleague and friend. Just because it was near the station but what a lovely find! Relaxing atmosphere and decor. Staff friendly and calm. Clearly known for what looked like fabulous steaks but went for the mushroom grill with chips which was fab. It had been a long day and felt very comforting. Tasty bottle of house red to round it all off. Definitely be back and would use the rooms which according to fellow diner were really great. Thoroughly recommended.
