Shanghai 30's - Oxford

I've been here a few times. Food is always good. It isn't super-cheap, but it's certainly not extortionate either and portions are generous. Good for a nice meal out, and a bit different from Oxford's usual eateries. It's an interesting building too, which makes for an interesting ambiance. However, this particular meal was slightly hampered in that respect by a large (very noisy) table next to us on their Christmas do. I'm sure it was a one-off, but the restaurant might want to think about how to accommodate parties like that in future, without detracting from other people's experience. I'd still go back though.

I was very disappointed with the quality of food. Expensive and rather small portion. I ordered the steam bass and was surprised to see how small the portion was when you had £9.00. I won't recommend this restaurant .

I used to dine here a lot last year, but for my latest visit, the food was very salty especially the egg fried rice. However, when I informed the waiter, he kindly offer to make a new one.

We took some very old friends out for the evening and not one person had anything to complain about, excellent service and food in a lovely ambience

An enjoyable meal in eccentric, friendly surroundings with an extensive menu that includes authentic Chinese dishes.
