Friends Family Restaurant - Owen Sound

Food is ok, but staff is friendly and decor is cute. Don't ask if you can substitute fries for a salad, they will say no lol

Eggs were very firm not over easy..hash browns were not ordered but came any way...nice surroundings...tasty coffee...

The food was decent and the price was ok. Waitress was nice and made sure we always had a full cup of coffee. I was a little put off that when I asked for a glass of water I was told I couldn’t have one I had to buy a bottle of water for $1. We had sat down and were about to order our meal.

Ordered the BLT, it was alright but the price for such a basic sandwich was oddly the same price as the all day breakfast special $9). Waitress seemed annoyed/like she hated her job. The person I was with ordered the breakfast special and requested scrambled eggs...what he got was chopped fried egg. They won 't serve tap water so they charge $1 for bottled water, and $2 for a small mug of coffee. Probably won 't eat there again.

First off this isn 't a review of the food. The food was a 3.5 stars. Everything served was good. Standard diner fare. The issue was with the waitress who was very awkward unfriendly... ironic. When we first walked in we were not greeted and sat ourselves. She came over to take our drink orders. My mother asked for honey with her tea. The waitress let out an audible sigh as if my mother 's request burdened her. She came back to the table with the drinks. She stared off into oblivion saying nothing. We stared right back at her... very awkward. I placed my order to break the silence. My wife and I were turned off a bit at this point but we were very hungry. At this time she was taking other people 's orders seemed a bit more friendly with them. Locals perhaps. Favoritism... I 'd say so. We ate our meals as soon as possible. We did not feel welcome in this establishment. On our way out I said thanks have a great day . The waitress walked by me like an automaton drone did not say a word. Do yourself a favor go to the Boot Blade restaurant. The service is much better there. We will not be returning to the Estranged Friends Family Restaurant. Extremely dissatisfied.
