Captain John's Fish & Chips

Beautiful small place with good food and good trips. we are here at least 3 times when traveling to owen sound this summer.

I can't eat full portions so they let me get the children and wow it was huge. kot was good, pommes were great, and I ate about half of everyone. great prices, I would like to have paid adult for what I got.

The food was good. I was looking for something to dinner, just a few minutes walk from my motel and this restaurant is directly opposite. the personal is very friendly. fish is fresh and the part is huge.

I have visited captain johns a lot of my life, but it has changed recently. Perhaps it is a new property, but their fish and chips are not the same. they are overcooked, very dense and karton-like. they were very shameful with spicy and away are the lemon wedges. extremely disappointed as it has been a family lover for many years we will not return and sad to say that.

Arrived hot from Skip The Dishes. Ordered at noon and the chicken was most certainly re-fried. It tasted old and musty. The thick batter had zero flavour besides the chalky aftertaste of flour. As fries usually do not transport well for delivery I asked for...them to be well done, the fries were raw in the middle, c'mon Capt'n John's pick up your game. The gravy obviously comes from a mix and a bargain basement mix at that and you'll be puttin out 2 bucks for a silo cup of kool-aid gravy, sad sad sad Capt'n. Coleslaw was the best part, I knew the cabbage and veg was chopped fresh so well done Capt'n but couldnt you at least make your own dressing instead of using the Kraft stuff out of a barrel and thats another 2 bucks there... Ill try them once more for the fish but for the chicken its a huge thumbs down
