Hotel Riva Bella 4 by Thalazur

Nothing wrong with the meal, just nothing special. The service is lackluster but because they are busy not unfriendly. Most of the diners are hotel guests so that changes the atmosphere.

Arrived early at so we knew it would probably be too early to check in, but asked anyway. Was told our room wasn't ready until o'clock but was given access to the spa, which was good, but we decided to go for a...little drive and explore the area instead,(it was lashing rain). Came back to the hotel just before to check in, now another receptionist. Was informed that our room was not ready, we said check in is at was told it's From o'clock! Sat down in the reception area to wait and we waited for hour when we were handed our key with no apology or explanation on the hotels facilities or how to get to our room... The only hotel we came across on our travels, that has such a late check in and doesn't try to accommodate their guests. So needles to say, we were not impressed by the service in the reception, (we also were left waiting minutes for the receptionist attention, who was always on the phone when approached). Found the card system with the robes very unnecessary... Why not just leave robes in the room's, if they have gone missing charge it to the guests room then... Otherwise our stay was OK, enjoyed the spa, the room was OK and the location of the hotel is great, right on the beach and walking distance in to the centre. Sorry about the long review but hard to explain the situation in a few words.

We stayed here the night before, our ferry crossing back to the UK. We weren’t too sure what to expect, as hotels in France can be quite different to the Uk. However, we were over impressed by the cleanliness, friendliness and quality of the food....The beds were incredibly comfy and after a day on the road, made a wonderful comforting retreat for the night. Although no beer on the restaurant menu, my request was met without any hesitation. Would highly recommend the steak and beer.

Avoid the Thursday buffet lukewarm, tasteless fish and the hot food is not replenished quickly enough so runs out or goes to cotton wool. Staff inattentive not clearing plates or tables so that the best window tables remain empty and you have to...sit over in the corner away from the view. Seafood is OK but not as fresh as it could be. Good selection of desserts and cheese. If booking ask for a window table.

Following a long car journey, and relaxing spa experience our delicious meal at Hotel Riva Bella restaurant completed an enjoyable evening. There was a varied French cuisine and good choice of wines. It was quite expensive, but we thought that the service and general ambience in pleasant surroundings made it good value.
