Trio Lounge - Ottawa

Wife and I have eaten here 2 times in the past couple of weeks. Why? Because it is that good! Small plates for sharing, superb cocktails, great service, and excellent music add up to a perfect place to explore creative food. The chef is putting out some top notch dishes. Inventive and beautifully presented, this is a neighborhood joint with serious culinary chops. If you're a little adventurous and not the stuffy type, you will love this place. Vibe artsy, Joy Division meets White Stripes. Food creative, Social Distortion meets Los Lobos. Drinks decadent, Rolling Stones meets Velvet Underground.

The staff is very moody. My boyfriend and I certainly didn't feel warm and welcome. The food was very delicious but the staff seemed more interested in looking at some utube video than putting a smile on their faces. I live in the neighborhood and have been to Trios before. The staff then was always welcoming us with open arms.

I've been to Trio many times pre-COVID and I just now returned! Couldn't be happier. The service is amazing and the food is perfect.

This restaurant is garbage. The portions are terrible. Paid $60 all in (take out) and it was barely enough for 1 person. The chicken quesa contained 3 small quesas... lmao Please add some pictures to your menu so everyone knows the direction they are throwing their money into the garbage bin.

Had a fantastic dinner here last night with a couple of friends. First impression: very small, but cozy place. Liked the atmosphere dark lighting, comfortable benches. Good place for a 1st date. Service: one person working on Monday evening so service was a tad slow at times but nothing to write home about as the server was always super friendly and helpful (even added extras to our plates to ensure we had enough for all of us Cocktails: unique and fun. Would highly suggest. All refreshing with a slight kick Food: We asked the service to choose dishes for us and we weren't disappointed! It's smallish plates, tapas style so for 4 people we received 6 plates. All served one after another, they ALL tasted delish and were received warm and ready to eat. The dishes that I remember: adventure plate: combo of meet/cheese/crispy potatoes/olives/hummus/dates wrapped in bacon and fresh bread. Delightful and more than enough food! spicy peanut pizza: not spicy (and I'm a baby when it comes to spice great combo of carmalized onion and goat cheese taco special: crispy creamy taco goodness! That's all I can remember grilled cheese: sounds typical but it was the perfect combination of buttery bread and cheese, served with a cinnamony ketchup like side (don't knock it til you try it! Wished I saved room for the hazelnut creme brûlée! Next time.
