The Royal Oak - Ottawa

The meal was excellent and the service was good. My husband and I have visited this pub multiple times and have always been happy with the service and the food. I personally loved the fish and chips and the chicken pie, while my husband usually opts for the Reuben sandwich. Last Friday, when it was very busy, we were still pleased with our experience. The waitress who served us was very friendly, our food came out quickly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

I recently visited this restaurant and had a great experience. The service was quick and attentive, allowing us to enjoy some quality time together. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively, adding to the overall enjoyment of our meal. I ordered the steak sandwich, which was cooked and seasoned perfectly and served on a delicious toasty bun. The food at this restaurant has improved since my last visit a few months ago. The ribs were delicious!

Ate fish and chips. Quality was not bad at all, just not big enough portion for that price. It was open late and closest option to the hotel.

I have been here quite a few times over the years and it seems it is gradually going downhill. Selection of British beer is not what it used to be, quality of the food has definitely gone down a lot. Also, not enjoyable to have flies buzzing about, even if it is summer. Food was blasé; meat in pie is tough, gravy is mediocre, Caesar salad is like from a fast food joint, flavour, authenticity and quality is just not there. Need better quality skills in the kitchen for sure.
