Contribuiți la feedbackI recently visited the Piggy Market for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Located just off the main street in Westboro, it is a combination luncheonette and diner, as well as a butcher and cheese shop for takeout. I decided to dine in and tried the Piggy Classic sandwich, filled with pulled pork and blue cheese on an egg roll. It was absolutely delicious, with a good kick of spice and great flavor. I also purchased some artisanal cheese that is hard to find in Ottawa to take home. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was cool and inviting. I will definitely be returning in the future.
The Piggy Market is a popular spot in Westboro, located behind the Dairy Queen and near Winston Square. It's not just a butcher shop, but also a place to get cheese, bread, and freshly prepared foods for lunch or dinner. I particularly enjoy their Jamaican patties, especially the chicken variety. The pastry is flakey and the meat is well-seasoned. I also love their bakery bread. I've never been disappointed when I stop by. Make sure to follow them on Facebook to see their daily specials!
Some may refer to this street as "the alley next to DQ," but to The Piggy Market, it is known as Winston Avenue. Located just a short walk behind some under-construction buildings that will soon be an open-air theater, The Piggy Market is a hidden gem in the Westboro neighborhood. If you are within a 5-mile radius of Westboro center, you are likely familiar with the abundance of cafes and alternative diet food options in the area. The Piggy Market stands out for its high-quality, locally sourced meat products, making it a great choice for those with specific dietary needs. Bought an absolutely delicious freshly-cut ribeye (see in photos) that was outstanding. I agree with some of the other reviews that this place is pricey, but the quality of meat was superb. Highly recommend trying it out.
Was out on the street looking for lunch. Saw the piggy market sign and figured I would check it out. Pulled pork with blue cheese and a fresh baguette. YUMMY! These were $7.50 each and worth it. I was looking at some of the other products and the prices seem high. A tiny jar of pickled beans was $13. Ouch
