I think the St-Laurent location of 168 sushi is the better oneThe layout of this restaurant is much better compared to Merivale.
Food was what is to be expected at an all you can eatNot bad but not great.
The sushi is good but the place is dirty, decor is ugly and service is without a smile. And they don't take interac. Cost of buffet 'all you can eat' is expensive for adults compared to similar restaurants. I would go back only for take out.
We are regular customers at another Asian buffet spot called Ten Sushi. So this review is a comparison between these two establishments.Menu choices: 168 wins on the selection of Chinese food, fried stuff (including tempuras) and desert. For grill and sushi choices, they have less selection than Ten Sushi. The 168 menu is missing squid sushi, salmon head, grilled eggplant, beef/green onion wrap.Food quality: about the same, though on sushi Ten Sushi wins again. They put more fish and less rice than 168. Plus the sushi rice is supposed to be warm, but at 168 it wasn't. Short ribs are grilled better at 168 but the marinade is tastier at Ten Sushi. Fried and Chinese food seemed better at 168.Service: spotty at both places. On the day of our visit, 168 was not busy at all so everything was coming out pretty fast.Price: For lunch 168 used to be a buck more than Ten Sushi, now they reversed. Kids' price lower at 168.Overall verdict: if primary goal is sushi and grill - I'd go to Ten Sushi. For fried/Chinese food selection - 168 Sushi is better. Personally, I'd continue to alternated between both.
