Overall, the sushi here was good! we ordered the lunch sashimi plate (12 pieces of the chef’s choice
I recently dined at Eighty-Eight in Mountain View with my boyfriend and parents on a Friday evening. We were all craving sushi and were not disappointed! We arrived during happy hour, so we took advantage of the discounted appetizers and ordered the Spicy Garlic Edamame. The chili oil added a surprising kick to the dish, which we all enjoyed. We were impressed that they offered Salmon Belly as a nigiri option, and it tasted fresh and delicious. We also shared three rolls - the Cherry Blossom, Ching Ching, and Dragon rolls, all of which were filling and tasty. While the prices are higher than average at around $20 per roll, the quality of the ingredients is evident. For dessert, they offer Anton SV crepe cakes. The service was quick and efficient, and the restaurant had a clean and modern layout. Overall, Eighty-Eight is a great spot for a quality sushi dinner away from Downtown Mountain View, with ample parking available.
I recently visited a fantastic new sushi restaurant with my friends and had an amazing experience! We particularly enjoyed the happy hour specials on Friday evening. We sampled some delicious appetizers like chicken gyoza and karaage, and had the pleasure of enjoying great deals on drinks, including $2 for a carafe of hot sake. The rolls we ordered from the main menu, such as spicy tuna, crispy cobra, and ching ching, were all superb. The only dish that didn't quite meet my expectations was the jalapeño poppers. The service was quick, and we were seated promptly thanks to our reservation. Parking was easy to find, and I am looking forward to returning to try the omakase next time!
The Chirashi Don is priced at $35 and has a rating of 4.5 stars. While it is on the more expensive side, the sushi is of very high quality. The Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen is $17 but only has a rating of 3 stars. It is under-seasoned and very oily, so I would not recommend it. However, the soft boiled egg in the bowl is the standout item.
