Royal Rooster Shawarma - Ottawa

This stunning halal restaurant offers a wide variety of options. The interior for dine-in is beautiful, perfect for hosting gatherings with friends and family. While the taste is good, it may not be the absolute best. However, it is on the pricier side compared to other competing restaurants.

Always an excellent experience at the royal rooster. I have tried all shawarma restaurants in the city, and this is the best definitiw. service is wonderful, and the staff is very courteous and cheerful. the restaurant is modern and very clean. I would definitely recommend.

Their place is amazing! The decoration is very nice.The staff is great! Always help and serve with a smile.The shawerma is OK, not very wow! The sandwich is poor a bit, thin and needed more chicken in it.We asked for a simple order, two chicken shawema plates, they changed it once because it was not made the way we asked. The second time it was not grilled ???And there was no pomegranate sauce in it as we asked.When I asked for a plate with two sandwiches, the waiter refused to take my order because he guessed that I'll not be able to finish my plate hahahah.Note to the chef: the place was not busy at all, please make sure to make the order as asked not the way you want ??The ayran is amazing, and the garlic sauce is great!

Picked up a chicken shawarma sandwich in saj bread on a Saturday afternoon. There was no line at the time so I got my order in a few short minutes.The chicken has a nice char and tasted pretty good. It's not quite as good value as Palace but the flavours are nice. Very glad to have saj bread options here. We'll be back to try their lamb shawarma, something that's harder to find. The boss was so kind to let me try their homemade ayran which went well with the shawarma.

If you're going to compare this restaurant to other shawarma places in the city, you're going to be very disappointed. This place is trying to give you an authentic shawarma experience as though you're ordering it in Syria and it comes pretty close!I recommend you go in a group of 4 and ordering the family platter in my photo. It's definitely worth it. I found the individual platters to be overpriced for the amount of food you're getting. We went on a Friday evening and we didn't have to wait that long for our order. They accommodated my brother's allergy and didn't put tahini in the food which was appreciated. They also make their own Ayran which is amazing but I found the hummus to be disappointing.No body in the reviews mentioned this but the decor of the restaurant is really nice. It combines modern contemporary elements with traditional Syrian elements which we all thought was super cool. I'm hoping they improve the ordering line up experience overtime and lower the prices of their platters but my whole family was content and happy with our food.
