Palais Imperial - Ottawa

We were confusing with this restaurant, it is Thai or Chinese. We saw some customers, so we thought it had to be good. The interior decoration is Thai, but the menu is a mixture of both. To be sure, we order 2 house special dishes... and Papaya Salat. Both dishes are bad; Why they take the Papaya salad after the main course, our mind is blown out. After dinner we have to stop with Beaver Tail to get something else.

Place has nice clean upscale decor but somehow the prices are very affordable. Portions are good and the food was great. There is a huge menu with several different Asian styles. Had a fabulous meal for a great price. Very recommended.

I picked up a nice meal here last night. Service was friendly and fast. Very reasonable price for a healthy portion of delicious food. I'd go back!

I just want to say that the food was pretty okay, but the service waiter I got was TERRIBLE. The waiter was so busy with other things, he gave me not expected details about the menu

We were in the area to actually try a different restaurant only to find they were closed for some sort of 'emergency '. This was the first other restaurant to catch our eye and was a good find. They have a large menu of chinese dishes....They also have an impressive list of dim sum to chose from, each of which is under $5 besides a few exceptions. We took a meal for two as well as spicey pork buns and pork 'footballs ' from the dim sum menu. Everything was hot and quite tasty. The meal was served a little slowly for my taste but having the dim sum gave us something in the meantime. Ample seating (like 80 places or so at ground level) but the decor is a bit outdated. Overall the personnel were helpful and friendly. If im in the mood for chinese again in that area I would not hesitate to go back.
