Meatings Barbecue - Ottawa

My guests couldn't stop talking about the food at our recent gathering. The brisket and beans were particularly popular. Our order was delivered quickly, arrived piping hot, and everything was absolutely delicious.

We ordered a full thanksgiving dinner from Meatings and they blew us all away!! It was honestly the best thanksgiving dinner I’ve ever had. The turkey was UNREAL, the stuffing was amazing, and the veggies fantastic. Such an easy process from the minute we ordered, to delivery, to eating!! I would recommend everyone place an order for their next holiday meal. If you want to have a stress free experience and amazing food, this is the place to order! 10/10.

Meatings really came through for our wedding day with incredible food and such attentive service. The servers made sure to come to us first with the passed appetizers and saved us a few when we were busy talking. Everyone raved about how good the food was, and we were nice and full and ready to drink and party after dinner! Mat also went above and beyond and helped us cut and serve our cake which was so nice. Really appreciate everything!! Highly recommend. Also the tasting was so fun before the wedding.

I want to caution future couples considering Meatings, as I found them to be quite unreliable and hard to communicate with. I can’t help but wonder if the level of service would have been different if my event had been larger and more lucrative for them. In the end, I decided to book another, much more reliable catering service and completely moved on from Meatings, as I couldn't trust them to deliver. Edit: In their response, Meatings stated they would call me that day to "rectify" the situation, but it has now been over a week since their response was published and I have yet to receive any communication from them.

Unfortunately, Meatings has closed its location at Canotek. Staff at Broadhead Brewing informed me that Meatings now operates a small outlet at Richcraft Sensplex, but the menu is very limited. Additionally, Broadhead Brewing itself offers a restricted menu that doesn't feature brisket, pulled pork, or ribs. While Broadhead does have some tasty food options, it's just not the beloved Meatings menu we all miss! Hopefully, we will soon have the chance to enjoy the fantastic smoked brisket and pulled pork from Meatings again—it's the best in Ottawa. (I rated it 4 stars only because we can't access their brisket and pulled pork; otherwise, both the food and service have always deserved 5 stars!)
