Island Grill Restaurant - Ottawa

Ahhhh, Jamaican cuisineThere aren't many nations who do it better.

Wow I walk by this place everyday day on the way to and from work and I've never gone in until tonightI had the coconut curry shrimp.

I was visiting Ottawa for the weekend and decided that I would stop at Island Grill for lunch.

Very good customer service, food is amazing and portions are great. I would definitely recommend this place.

I've been eating authentic jamaican food for my entire life and I gotta say I was pretty disappointed. The rice peas didn't have any hints of coconut at all and the j chicken was flavorless.The fried plantain was great and made well and so was the oxtail. I was really hoping to find some good jamaican food here in Ottawa but it seems I'll have to go back to Toronto to really get my fix.
