Flapjack's Canadian Diner - Ottawa

If you crave flapjack or just a regular breakfast, you must stop in. Get there early or you might find a little wait. But I was offered a coffee ☕️ while I waited. Nice!Food was amazing. Everyone at our table love it. I will definitely come back for the breakfast again and also going to check out the club sandwich at some point. The service was terrible and the food was very bland. My friend ordered a lumberjack breakfast which was supposed to come with ham, bacon and sausage. All that was on the plate was egg and potatoes. We had to ask for the meat, the toast and cream and sugar for the coffee. The meat portions were very tiny when it finally arrived. I ordered a Three cheese omelette and asked for it to come with bacon in it also. None of the cheese inside the omelette was melted and there was one strip of bacon lying on top of the omelette. I asked for NO potatoes and got a half plate of home fries beside my omelette. I would not eat there again.

I've been wanting to come to Flapjack's for years since I follow their Instagram and have always been amazed at how great their food looks. Going there was nothing short of a complete disappointment. We came around noon and were told we'd wait about 35 minutes for a table for 3. We waited more than that, which was fine. Once we were seated it took the waitress another HALF AN HOUR to come and talk to us. Luckily we had found menus on another table, but had we not, we would have waited all that time just to SEE the menu. When she came we ordered right away. It took us another HOUR to get our food. Atrocious. Our food didn't even come out all at the same time! Only one of us got food and the others waited. We didn't even get maple syrup, ketchup, etc. We asked for it and they brought it after we finished. On top of that, the food was boring and basic. Not great. Certainly not worth waiting hours for! I approached the manager to talk about the amount of time we waited. She was unsympathetic, bordering on cruel. She told me we should have expected to wait an hour or more after we sat for our food. I explained to her that I am hypoglycemic, meaning I can't physically wait hours between meals or I would get sick and potentially faint. She told me she is epileptic and passed out behind the bar before and I should have brought food to eat at the table while I was waiting. Unreal. I got a migraine while I was waiting. Hours later I still have it, as I am writing this post. Unbelievable. She knocked a whole 10% off my bill for the trouble. Thanks. I wouldn't suggest this terrible place to anyone. It's clear that the attitude of the staff is the worst part of this restaurant. Pick another place to eat!

But, at least the chicken fingers made MacDonalds chicken nuggets seems like a delicatessen. On the other hand, or possible with both hands, they will accept your hard earned money. I highly recommend the beer, you need it to finish the lunch.

After a 45 minute wait to get a seat, thinking ok this might be worth. I was truly disappointed. I ordered the Mac n Cheese with buffalo chicken. It came in a cast iron skillet and the macaroni tasted like rust. Still trying to find the cheese. It should have been called Mac n white sauce with a rusty nail taste with a small amount of chicken breast. For the wait time and price. Not at all worth it. Will never return.
