Beckta Dining & Wine Bar - Ottawa

Great food, wonderful ambiance and fantastic service. This really was one of the highlights of our trip.

We had another delicious meal at Beckta’s. The service was, as usual, warm and efficient. We appreciated the pacing of our meal and the quality of our food. We would, however, love more adult, special occasion non-alcoholic options. Why not any de-alcoholized wine of there is beer of that sort? That would make a special occasion or any occasion even better.

Beckta is a fabulous date night dinner spot. The food and service are delicious and fantastic. The atmosphere permits conversation which is rare in many central Ottawa locations. I especially enjoy the small plates, ie the shrimp, while my husband the larger plates and a salad. The service is perfect. The prices fair. It remains our go to spot for date night.

Beautiful building, lovingly furnished. Friendly, unpretentious staff. Very efficient service. Small menu but guaranteed excellent. Small plates are generous servings, and two of them plus dessert would make an excellent meal. Beautiful plating and great attention to detail in all things. Extensive wine list and delicious house cocktails, including the mocktail. An Ottawa institution, well worth the price.

We enjoyed our dinner here a year ago, and on renewed acquaintance we like Beckta even better. I had two small dishes, the steak tartare and the asparagus; my wife had a salad and the shrimp. We shared two desserts. Everything was first-rate. The music is low-key, and the service is excellent. Highly recommended.
