Al's Diner - Ottawa

BEST BREAKFAST I’VE HAD IN A LONG TIME! First time here and it definitely won’t be my last. From the delicious crispy home fries, thick cut toast, thick maple bacon and perfectly cooked eggs this is a must eat place! The staff were so friendly and I was smiling ear to ear the entire time! Clean, amazing atmosphere and amazing food! Can’t wait to come back and try their lunch! I’m writing this review in an amazing food and with a full belly ?. Also amazing prices, two full breakfast's for only 34$!!!! Just WOW.

Before heading back to Carleton Place after an appt. my wife and I decided to try Al's and in particular their breakfast.ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! LOVED EVERYTHING AND THE SERVICE WAS AMAZING.WE WILL BE BACK

The breakfast is great and reasonable. The service for the most part is good. Just be weary.. if they offer you onions with the breakfast potatoes they will hit you with a charge on the bill. Other than that I would recommend their breakfast.

With LRT developments our favorite family breakfast restaurant closed. We hadn't found anything that came close until Al's Diner. Super friendly staff that somehow manage to remain friendly on a busy weekend morning WHILE remaining efficient. Count me impressed. The food was the good old staples, nothing fancy, but the ingredients were good quality. The bacon pieces, for example, were mostly meat, not just fat.Kid-friendliness: They had a small kid menu with the winning classics, high chairs and the orange juice came in a cup with a cover and a straw.

I recently found this hidden gem and I highly recommend it for a delicious and casual meal. Al's Diner has a diverse menu and our server, nicknamed the Roadrunner, was exceptionally friendly and attentive. She even lent my mom her sweater because she was feeling cold. We tried the hot beef and hot chicken sandwiches and they were absolutely delicious! We will definitely be returning to try more dishes in the future.
